Internet Bandwith Consumption
Since November 2024 I have three tado Smart Thermostats and a tado Bridge X running. My internet connection is a 40 GB/month mobile broadband, which has worked fine for our household since January 2024 with no loss in accumulated monthly bandwith. Five days ago, by accident, I discovered that there was only 15 GB left and…

Open valve
Hi, I love my Tado valves but there are times when i want to be able to do the following: Set living room radiator valve to 20C, While the living room is getting to temperature, open the valve fully on the radiator in the bedroom. Don't set a setpoint temperature, just open the valve so that room heats up at the same time…

Tado Thermostat X has no Device Linking option within the app
Hello, I have successfully paired my Tado X Thermostat and Bridge X to my home network. I can control the thermostat via the Tado app without any issues. However, I'm now trying to pair my Tado X to my Home Assistant instance. In order to do that, I require a setup code. It is my understanding that I should be able to get…

Where to buy parts?
I managed to break the thermostat head nut - it's a bit fragile isn't it? Can I order spare parts like only the nut itself or the complete set that includes the plastic part (excluding the thermostat)? If these are not for sale anywhere, can anyone share recommendations of compatible nuts that I could use to replace it? My…

Installing Extension Kit with Hot Water Cylinder
Hello, as the Tado chat is pretty much not responding and they closed their phone lines, I am hoping someone here can help. We have a Vaillant UniStor unvented hot water cylinder and a Vaillant EcoTec plus 618 condensing boiler. There is a Honeywell ST9400C control for hot water and heat next to the hot water tank.…

Individual temperature settings
It would be really good if you could have temperature profiles for each person and then one for when there’s multiple people home. I have my schedule set up so my partner is t cold, but I always turn it down when she goes out and I’m home. It would be nice if taco would see I’m home alone and reduce it to the temperatures…

Bespoke Nom Circular Geofence
Allow a non circular Geofence to be plotted. We have a park near our house that would be good to have outside the geo fence, especially when the wife and kids spend a few hours there. If I reduce the current Geofence radius to exclude the park the Tado App says it's too small.

Lower hysteresis for underfloor heating
We have Tado controlling our underfloor heating but it has two issues: it's not learning and the hysteresis is too big. If I set the room to 20C then the underfloor heating doesn't come on until the temperature has dropped to 19C. It then runs the boiler until the room hits 20C but the residual heat in the floor keeps the…

Tado X - Month 2 Review / Feedback Needed.
Hello, Having been a Tado customer for 4-5yrs, and vocal about the lack of additional bridge support for the v2/3 platform, i jumped on the opportunity to upgrade to X to finally solve connectivity issues around my home. Now that i've been using X for 2 months, here is an honest summary of my experience, and some issues…

Change the hysteresis / PID settings
Hi Tado. The current desire of the smart thermometer algorithm to track the set temperature is killing my hardware. It is turning it on/off so often that things are breaking (like TCVs). How about I can select the min and max settings that trigger a state change? Or if it is a PID system, I should be able to change the…

Can no longer control heating/hot water via Google Home - devices offline
A couple of days ago I suddenly found that I can no longer control my boiler via Google Home. When I say, for instance "Turn on heating", it just says: Sorry, I couldn't reach Tado degree That's a new one one meI I've had intermittent issues in the past, but have never heard Google refer to "Tado degree". That makes me…

Matter Device Linking
As many will know I have a Tado X system, 16 x Rad valves with Wireless X Receiver. I use the Tado Android App on a Pixel Fold 1 running Android 15. Since I had this system I have tried a number of times to use the Matter Device Linking option. I have been able to make it work only by factory resetting the Rad Valves. The…

Child lock for wireless temperature sensor
As per the title. The TRVs have a child lock function, but the wireless sensors cannot be child locked. As the wireless temp sensors effectively control the heating in the same way as the TRV, it doesn't make sense to not have child lock on them. Thanks

New TADO installation - Thermostat and TRV
Hi we have just had a new TADO install and have smart TRVs on every radiator. We also have a TADO wireless thermostat. I am now controlling and setting the radiator TRV via the app and I can’t work out what the point of the wireless thermostat now is. Can I simply disconnect it and forget about it? thanks Ken

Problem with programming in different rooms of the house
I have purchased a smart thermostat and two smart thermostatic heads tado X, as well as a bridge. The smart thermostat is located in the living room, and the smart thermostatic heads are in two bedrooms. The temperature schedule is the same for all three rooms. The problem I have is that when the desired temperature is…

Can I use the smart thermostat to control a plinth heater
Hi, I have an extension kit, smart thermostat & TRV's controlling a combi. All works well. In my kitchen I have a wet plinth heater. So when the boiler fires up, a thermostat on the water pipe inside the heater switches the fan on and blows warm air into my kitchen. I'd like to try and get better control of this by using…

Release a smaller, cheaper Wireless Temperature Sensor for the Smart Radiator Thermostats
The recently released "Tado Wireless Temperature Sensor" is essential, in many scenarios, to have accurate operation of the Tado Smart Radiator Thermostats. Which, due to their proximity to the radiator, are not typically able to measure the actual room temperature themselves. However, many find the price (£69.99 / 79,99€)…

Who to wire to Installing Tado Starter V3+ kit with Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30 si?
Who to wire to Installing Tado Starter V3+ kit wired with Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30 from Drayton thermostat? Do I put it on a digital ( N with - and L with +) and any additional wires I need to isolate? Thank you in advance for your help.

Greenstar 28i with digistat optimiser
I have installed a tado system into our WB greenstar 28i which has the digital clock /RF unit. The tado works on its own and you can hear the relay click when you set a demand for CH, but this does not fire the boiler. The remote Digistat optimiser still operates the CH, and I can't figure out how to change this over. Any…

TRV temperature setting vs room temperature
Hi All, I am planning to buy a full Tado system but I wonder if the TRV is measuring the temperature and it is mounted to the radiator, how could it give you the precise heat in the room what you need? As far as I know the max temp is 25 Celsius on the TRV, so is it enough to heat up the room to 21-22 Celsius? Thanks for…

Update for the TRV Compatibility CHart - Landis & Gyr
The TRV compatibility chart only has one type of clamp on Landis & Gyr TRV that is not compatible with Tado V3+ smart valves. My Landis & Gyr TRV heads have the standard 30 x 1.5mm screw fitting so the Tado valves fitted without any adapters. I have attached photos of the valve body and TRV cap.

Replacing Myson MPRT with Wired Tado – Second Wireless Zone Compatibility and Setup Questions
Hi everyone, I’m planning to upgrade my thermostat setup and recently purchased the Tado Wired Smart Thermostat Starter Kit V3+ to replace my wired Myson MPRT (in the living room). Buying advice please, replacing old wireless Honeywell
Afternoon all. My old RF wireless Honeywell thermostat has packed in, so I need to replace it. It is a pretty standard thing, only turning the combi boiler on and off, and that's it. I saw the Tado Smart Thermostat X and also a similar looking wireless version. Would the wireless version be what I need, and would that be…

Switch off schedule for individual rooms . . .
The current schedule system provides a "switch off all rooms" feature. This is useful but it would be even better if rooms could be switched off individually. At the moment the only way to remove a room from the schedule, without resorting to "switch off all rooms" is to go to each room's schedule and switch off the…
