My device linking did show when I added the second stat in Apple home first, however the original radiator thermostat does not show linking in the menu - that one was installed via the Tado app first. The two devices are quite far apart in serial numbers, does make me wonder if there was a hardware change with early units that dries not work (as my other post here). OR perhaps the linking only shows if you add a device outside of Tado?
I can’t risk losing the heating now in the winter so I dont want to mess with the install further at this point. I’m also very reluctant to install the new receiver and third thermostat that arrived today……..I am still running V3 on another home account in the same house, that seems fine and works fine in tandem to X.On balance the x-radiator stats are so much better in the bedrooms (super quiet).
I’ve not installed a tad matter controller yet, and had no issues with my two radiator thermostats losing connection.
Unable to Add Tado X Devices to Home Assistant
Hi,
In the Tado app, I initially couldn’t see the device linking option. However, after performing a factory reset on all devices and re-adding them, the issue was resolved. I was able to successfully add the devices to Google Home. Apart from some connectivity issues, everything works fine there, and I can adjust the temperature settings through the Google Home app.
However, when I try to add the devices to my Home Assistant, it loads for a moment but always returns the error: "Not able to add the device to Home Assistant."
The Matter integration is installed on Home Assistant, so I’m unsure what could be causing this problem.
Has anyone else faced this issue? Any suggestions or tips on how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

For me it worked well the first time, for only one of two radiators. For the other one I cannot even see the "Device linking" button.
See thread below.
BTW, the right procedure for adding the device to Home Assistant is the following:
- Open the **companion app**
- Settings -> Rooms & Devices
- Click on the desired radiator
- Device linking -> Home Assistant

Found the solution!
I home assistant app, I had to go to settings>system>network
There I had to configure WLAN0 to my home wifi network and set IPv6 to automatic.
Afterwards I did put the networkadaptor to Adapter: wlan0
This did work for me to add the devices succesfully to home assistant :-)0 -
I don't see any option for "device linking" whatsoever…
I have 7 TRVs, some of them purchased weeks apart. Also running home assistant and the matter add-on.

this is crap. This is less functional than Tado 3. This is backwards.
