More intelligent Balance

I have been using Balance functionality for a while now. The idea is great, however I find the "rules" for decreasing the temperature by 2° during high energy price periods too static.

A few ideas to make this more "intelligent":

  • If a "Balance period" coming up during which my "home" otherwise would be heated up a lot, then Balance could raise the temperature one hour beforehand.
    Example:
Home is at 18° at night and 20° during the day (from 8am onward). Currently Balance lowers the temperature from 8am nevertheless, thus the house even drops below 18°.
    Suggestion:
Balance could recognise this and raise the temperature to 20° from 7 am to 8 am and then lower the heating temp again.
  • Balance could heat up beforehand and then lower the temperature earlier.
    Example:
Electricity is cheap until 6 pm, expensive from 6 pm and cheap again from 7 pm. Balance then lowers the temperature by 2° at 6 pm. As the tado control system only switches off the heat pump after half an hour of heating activity, electricity is currently only saved for 30 minutes at Balance times of 1 hour.
    Suggestion:
Instead, Balance could slightly increase the temperature everywhere at 17:30 and then switch off at 18:00.
  • Balance should not switch off for long, consecutive times with low temperature.
    Example:
Balance is set to 4 hours, electricity prices are highest between 4 pm and 8 pm, and the two, slightly lower peaks are from 7 am to 10 am. Balance now sets the heat pump lower from 4pm to 8pm, which cools the flat down significantly after 2 or 3 hours.
    Suggestion:
Instead, Balance could allow a maximum of half of the set time (meaning 2 hours in the example above) as continuous Balance times. So in the example only from 5 to 7 pm and instead also from 7 to 9 am.
  • Avoidance of heating activity for frost protection rooms.
    Example:
We have a room, the ‘garage’, which is set to frost protection. This is because it never needs to be heated, even though our previous owners installed a radiator there. As water pipes run through this room, I have installed a tado X thermostat there and set it to frost protection. The garage sometimes gets 4° cold and as the rest of the house requires heat anyway, it's not a problem, so the garage is sometimes heated briefly.
However, this is counterproductive with Balance, because then the rest of the house is off and just because the garage requires a little heat, the heat pump starts up.
    Suggestion:
Before a balance period, heat all rooms that are on frost protection (=5°) to 6° and then drop back into frost protection.

Thank you!
