Heating randomly stays on and exclamation mark present!

My Tado V3+ system and TRVs have been fitted for 3 months with no problems. However, on a couple of occasions the central heating will remain on past the thermostat set temperature.

The heating then remains on no matter what I do, unless I hard reset the Tado sender unit in the airing cupboard.

I also notice that the sender unit displays the exclamation mark led when this problem occurs.

is there any reason why this is happening? I am starting to worry that the fault will happen when I am out of the house and the hallway will just continue to heat past 30 degrees C 😳

Here are some photos of the sender unit and my app displaying high temperatures

  • Has anyone solved this? I have the same problem, sometimes my heating just stays on and heats the house continuously.

It only stops when I carry out a hard reset on the controller 😌

  • Having the same problem. The two responses we have gotten from an agent so far.
    1. Apparently not having a zone controller assigned won't trigger the boiler and one a maximum of 10 rooms can be assigned to one zone controller.

    2. There is a possibility that the installation of the wires on the smart thermostat aren't correct, but the agent is not willing or able to tell us exactly the solution, even though we have stated that the instructions provided by Tado are not helping us with our installation.

  • My system does it randomly, say every couple of weeks or so… which makes me assume the wiring is all ok.

Perhaps the electronic valve is starting to fail and stays open sometimes, is that possible?
