Why is still heating ? Temp set to 18°, (room at 18,7°)
This morning I have noticed that the thermostat was set at 18°, the room was at 18,7° and the boiler was still running.
The truth is that today is the coldest day in months.
Is it possible that TADO takes this in consideration to heat over what I want ?
Can I remove it in the case is this "feature" ?
Thankyou
Gus

I have this every single morning during the main heat up of the day. Set to 20, doesn't stop until 21 on the dot regardless of the day/weather. Every cycle from then on is normal. I don't mind it and it's probably more efficient because the boiler will be modulating for me after running for so long in the morning - but it is still odd behaviour and it adds to the other illogical behaviour I get with Tado giving me less confidence in the system.

Agreed, this happens to me all the time. I would much prefer the system does as it's told and stopped trying to be clever. If I set my thermostat to 18 degrees, it's because I want the room to heat to 18 degrees, not 17, not 19.
I agree, if this is some sort of clever AI, please allow us to turn it off via an app setting. The setting could be labelled as 'Normal' or 'Intelligent' for example. That way, if a user's system doesn't work well on the "Intelligent" setting, it can be set to "Normal".

I have noticed about it today, perhaps because it's the coldest day since last winter.
I usually set to 17/18° the living room at night, but this morning when I entered I noticed it was warmer that usual, the boiler was still running at 18,7°Gus

I have the same issue and the helpdesk is painfully slow in getting back to me…. chat is open for 2 days now. In order to switch the heating off, I have to pull the thermostat off the wall.
I find this ridiculous that it’s taking so long to tell me the issue is.

Hello everyone,
tado° considers many factors when heating your home to ensure that you are comfortable. These factors include:- the outside temperature,
- the insulation of your walls,
- the weather forecast,
- your heating type, and
- the temperature of the hot water in your pipes.
tado° also takes into account the temperature trend over a period of time. So, it’s normal for tado° to keep heating for a while even after reaching the target temperature.
This ensures that the temperature you've set is maintained. It also prevents tado° from having to call for heat too frequently, causing your heating system to turn on and off too often. This helps increase your system’s efficiency and prevents unnecessary wear on its mechanical parts.

Is there a way of turning off these features when it is clear they do not work well?
Or can they be turned off on an account case-by-case basis if we were to send a request to do so?
Or do we need to request this under in the suggestions section as an option?
For many these features will work, but they don't on my system. I want to control my system manually. The old manual TRV with wheel thermostats actually worked better for my B1 rated house because tado is running the boiler on needlessly. I am actually using more oil now than I did prior to fitting tado and it's usually because the tado thinks it knows better than I do. It's why I am increasingly micro-managing the system, trying to override tado's attempts at being clever.
Out of curiosity, how does tado know how well my walls are insulated? The rest I can work out, but that one I cannot as I've not told tado. Is this something I have missed during setup and could this omission be the reason why I have to micro-manage my system so much?

Our was heating all the time….I'm calling BS on this.

@TadoUser2 tado can likely estimate how well your house is insulated by monitoring how quickly temperatures drop after the heating is switched off. This will vary from room to room. Well insulated rooms will be have a much slower temperature decay over time.
In my house, I have a particularly draughty kitchen, not least because there's a flipping massive draughty hole in the door known as a cat flap. Tado drives the kitchen radiator a lot harder than other rooms in my house, and regularly slightly slightly overheats, particularly on cold days. This will then likely mean that on average the room is at the temperature I want.
To be brutally honest, based on some of the comments you've posted, I suspect a smart system is not for you. My advice is return it, a manual system sounds like it'd suit you better.
@Fr4nc1s_Cum1sk3y sounds like you've got a different issue altogether if your heating is stuck on. Best advice, persist with customer services or provide a much more detailed description of your problem in a new thread. People are more likely to help.

I've been asking support to help me try to cull some awful short cycling with my thermostat, they've been making it less and less sensitive to heat requests and this morning it only overshot by 0.5c instead of the usual 1c. Still not sure if that's going to cause other unintended problems but I think I prefer 0.5c to 1c.

I understand how tado can interpret rooms chilling faster in less insulated rooms/houses. Where this falls down for me is that our lounge (the worst affected room) is a large (8m x 5m) open plan room out to the hall with no doors, and heat goes upstairs. But there are no draughts and the room feels warm, even at 17 degrees. But the room takes a long time to warm up 1 degree because of the open plan thing.
I don't disagree with you. A manual system worked surprisingly well. Even a manual room thermostat with KASA smart TRVs did what I wanted better than tado does. However I tried tado because I wanted remote access, something I didn't have before. I wasn't aware of these "features" that basically try to be cleverer than me. Perhaps these features work better on houses with a rating of C or lower, but at B1, these "features" are not working for this house.
Sadly I believe you are right, it's time for me to give up the fight. tado are unlikely to mend anything any time soon. For my next attempt, I will make sure the chosen system either does not employ AI to try being cleverer than me, or at least has the facility to turn it off.
I shall begin the de-install in the morning.

Well, it could be worse. I have underfloor heating and Tado keeps heating for few more hours after reaching target temperature. This wastes gas, makes room warmer than desired and when it finally stops it stops for many hours (due to overshoot in well insulated house heating is not needed until next day). As a result the floor cools down completely leading to perceived temperature being lower than desired. And support? Stopped responding after November 18th... So if you have possibility to return the system it may be easier than trying to make it work.0

And I think a lot of these types of issues could be solved with my active suggestion of exposing Tado's advanced configuration parameters to us. I think it's a real shame people are often feeling the need to de-install and return the system because we as users are powerless to configure our devices to work how we need them to in our homes. We are faced with the choice of either deal with it, return it all if we even can depending on time frame, or try to resolve the issues with support which can often be quite challenging and very time consuming. I'm grateful the last option is there, but it could be so, so much better if we could just do it ourselves if we were simply given access to the tools that already exist to do so.

I'm sorry to say it's this day and age. The vast majority of companies really only care about the biggest percentage of their customer base. Us 2% with problems they just couldn't care less about as we don't adversely affect their profits.
Luckily Amazon have already agreed the return of €900 of now uninstalled tado products, I'm one of the lucky ones. This morning the heating came on when I wanted it to, it heated to the temperature I set on the thermostat and then turned off.
I'm a happy chappy!
