Tado X Programmer Looses Internet Connection
Hi,
My Programmer has lost its internet connection twice since I set it up two weeks ago. When it is connected all 3 wi-fi lights are lit, so it has a good strong signal.
Restarting it fixes the problem, until next time!
I am wondering if the programmer has any difficulties with Mesh wi-fi. I have one name for both 2.4gHz and 5gHz. I know some things get confused by Mesh Networks.
If its not that, then what is happening?
Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm having the same problem and I'm mesh WiFi too!1

It just happened again. Could someone from Tado please respond to my Does it have any issues with a Mesh Wi-Fi connection?

Some users, myself included, have reported the wireless receiver (programmer?) indicating the Internet connection has been lost when it has not. Symptoms are left led steady, middle led off, right led flashing. However, the device is still connected. Restarting resolves this, but only temporarily. Could this be what you are experiencing?

Yes it is… Its the 3rd time since having the kit, so about once per week or so

From my emails to support they are looking into the issue, so Tado are aware! I believe it will be a firmware fix to solve this issue, but it would be good for Tado to send some communication to say they are aware!1

Thank you so much for the info, apricated 😊 Lets hope Tado come out with the firmware update soon and let us know that it has happened.

Update: looks like the wireless reciever has had a firmware update and it's now on 246.2 and so far the LED lights are correct!1
-
Still on 240.2, hopefully will update soon0
-
Spoke too soon the flashing lights returned! :-(0

My wireless receiver is on firmware 240.2 and I don't have any connection issues, however I am only running 2.4gHz on my router as the 5gHz channel on that is turned off. I do have a separate 5 gHz mesh network plugged into my router (but the device Tado is connected to is only 2.4).

So Tado support emailed to say that firmware update 246.2 was pushed to my device. I have since rebooted this to ensure it can have a refresh, and pleased to say it's been stable for 48hrs so far!0

Is your device an X?
Not seen on mine in the UK0 -
Yeah mine is an X and I am also based in the UK0
-
Oh, just checked and it has updated0
-
Is your LED lights steady now? If not give the wireless reciever a restart.1
-
Well it ran for many days between problems, lets see. I also think my Bridge X firmware has updated to 145.1 (was something like 139.1) I notice the LED lights now show on the front, which is nice

Is there anyway to find out which of my Tado smart valves are linking to the Bridge X ?

My Bridge X is on 239.10
-
Sorry meant was on 239.1 and is now on 245.1

I noticed because all the LED lights now show which they did not do before

I will keep checking mine, it may update overnight but would be good if the lights are permanently on!1

At 246.2 here, too, and receiver X disconnected trice today. Exactly the same behaviour, it just goes off of WiFi and stays with middle WiFi light off and right one flashing. Cheery on the cake, it drops from the Matter over Thread network too, bringing few devices that are connecting through it offline, until the restart. Extra annoyance is the heater won't certainly love such continuous switch off and on..
Has the firmware fully solved for you?0 -
The LED started flashing again today, so I've emailed support back, looks like from your side this shows the firmware hasn't solved the issue :-(2
-
So far no problems but it only went wrong twice in 5 weeks, so early days for mr0
-
Guess what, it just lost connection0
-
Not sure it will make a difference but I just ran through the "Configure" option for my Wireless X Receiver using the phone app. It took a while and seemed to fail but then worked, what can I say 😊

I've been doing that and it doesn't make a difference it will show it's got internet connection but still flashing away! Plus my bridge hasn't even had this firmware update that you had :-).
We can really do with Tado commenting on this thread to let us know what is going on!1 -
Yes, Tado please let us know, thanks

The Tado Chat Bot came back with this reply just now…..
We don't have specific information about known issues with the Wireless Receiver X and Mesh networks. However, connectivity problems can have various causes. Here are some general troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure your Internet Bridge is centrally located and at least 3 meters away from other devices.
- Check if the Internet Bridge LEDs indicate any specific issues.
- Try setting Google DNS as your primary DNS in your router settings.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, you may need to contact our support team for more specific assistance with your Wireless Receiver X and Mesh network setup.

What I've noticed is when ever the wireless receiver connects to another WiFi router in the house it will start flashing. Interesting thing is, I have a router literally a meter away from the receiver. So there should never be any connection issues.1
