Tado X and Vitodens 050-W BPJD OpenTherm

Hello,

Today I received and installed Tado X and Bridge to control my Vitodens 050-W BPJD.

I used the cabling suggested by the app Relay pin NO/COM and it works.

Later I found this post here that seems to confirm the boiler supports OpenTherm.

My questions are:

1 - do I have to move cables from Relay to OpenTherm connectors on Tado X ?

2 - Will Tado X understand this change automatically or there is a way to force it to use OpenTherm ?

Is it worth to use OpenTherm instead or relay?

Thank you for your help.

    Hello @paspao

If you change the wires on the tado° thermostat to the +/- terminals, it should directly recognize the OpenTherm protocol.

It automatically detects whether the digital interface Opentherm is connected and configures it accordingly.

As for your last question, I suppose it's a question of preference. OpenTherm offers you the ability to modulate your heating, which in many cases increases efficiency and savings.

I confirm it is working via OT now.
