Tado Smart Temperature Senzor X not working with apple HomeKit
I recently bought the Wireless Smart Thermostat X starter kit (wireless senzor X + wireless Receiver X) to upgrade my heating unit. The installation process of the devices and the registration in the official Tado app worked out fine and I everything seems to work.
The main problem is it’s integration inside of the apple HomeKit app. I bought Tado instead of any competitor smart heating system because of its matter/homekit integration so that I can control my heating through a “Hey Siri” command on one of my HomePods or through the HomeKit widgets on my Mac or iPhone.
Sadly this doesn’t work. after adding the Thermostat X into the HomeKit app, the device shows up but can’t be controlled. The temperature can be read though, which confuses me. The room temperature in the HomeKit app will always be the same as inside the Tado app or on the digital monitor and seems to work fine. The problem is that the moment you tell Siri to set the temperature to 20*C it only shows up inside the HomeKit app but there is no reaction inside the Tado app or on the digital monitor. Same thing happens when the heating is running and I turn it off on my iPhone inside the HomeKit app, it just keeps running.
I tried restarting and or resetting and re-adding the Smart Thermostat at least a dozen times inside the HomeKit app and also inside the Tado app itself. Is it a malfunction od the device? It confuses me that the communication between the Senzor and HomeKit app works since the degrees show up but not the rest :/
Thank you so much for your help!

My recent purchased Tado X won’t sync with HomeKit no matter what I did, I’ve tried everything that I know of and it still doesn’t work. Idk why, if some of you have a similar issue and you’ve sorted it, please help me!0

Hello @Doqul
Can you confirm you have Apple Homepod mini, or Apple Homepod 2?
Hello @GeorgeTilneac and @SimonMad
Can you also confirm that you have a compatible home hub as described in this article?
Having home hubs compatible with tado° X is crucial to making the set-up work.
If you do have the necessary home hubs, the problem is likely on tado°'s side….
Currently, tado° is dealing with an issue wherein the current Sensor X firmware is inhibiting proper connection with HomeKit. Our developers are working on a fix. Until this fix is available, you can contact support and request a firmware downgrade. Instructions on how to contact support via live chat can be found here.0 -
I also have the problem with setting temperature in Apple Home and showing already set temperature on device (Temperature Sensor X).
I have Tado Wireless Receiver X as a Matter Hub.
With Radiator Thermostat X - there is no such problem and everything is working with it.
Actually after first registration of Tado Temperature Sensor X, showing set temperature and setting temperature in Apple Home worked, but when I re-register it, it stopped working and Apple Home app getting and setting thermostat temperature from null device, which is not connected with real one.
It seems the problem of firmware.

Hi @Emcee,
I can confirm that I am using Homepod Mini Model MY5G2D/A running version 18.1. Using the Wireless Receiver X thread connection stable and the Temperature Sensor X. I might try the software rollback to see if this fixes the issue. Let us know when the fix is available. Thank you0
