Wireless receiver not working after being switched off at the isolator.

So, my wireless receiver had disconnected from the bridge and I asked someone to reset the WiFi on it whilst I was out as my heating wouldn't turn off and the house was like a sauna. Instead of doing a reset, they turned the whole unit and boiler off at the fuse switch for the whole day. I've since tried to turn it back on but there is NO power going to either the receiver or boiler. No lights, nothing. So we are now without hot water and heating...

Any ideas of how it can be resolved? We think it may have surged itself because we've had a few short power cuts recently and then this. So possibly requiring a whole new receiver?

It's the standard v3+ kit, approx 3years old but has only been installed for the last 12 months because I never got round to it.

Hello @Holman93 This sounds like the 3A mains fuse for boiler and receiver has blown? Are you able to check if there is mains power with a) an electrical non-contact voltage tester? b) multimeter, or c) electrical test screwdriver?

Fuse switch seems to be live and working. Light is comes on once switched on. There's just nothing from that to the receiver and then the boiler. I don't have a screwdriver that can test it at the minute.

@Holman93 The best advice is to call out a professional to look at it for you.

If there are no lights, this still sounds like a power/fuse issue somewhere. There can be a small 20mm 3A fuse in some wiring centres (e.g. Honeywell) and the boiler probably has an internal fuse. Either of these fuses can be blown for all sorts of reasons and can give similar symptoms.

Provided there is power to the boiler and your heating has e.g. S-Plan zone valves … the spring-loaded 'manual' lever on the side of zone valve can be pulled to the right (use your hand and finger/thumb) to 'call for heat'. It this works, there should be a notch to hold it on place.

Hope you can get this resolved before the colder weather arrives.
