Tado just turned on my boiler.

At around 13:40 today (literally 5 minutes ago as I write this), my boiler just fired up and is still running.

This is odd as 10 or 15 minutes beforehand, I clicked the button (on the app) to turn everything off.

I sat here in my Living Room and did hear what I thought was the Wired Thermostat in the Hall click. I put it down to it being something else, but the boiler fired.

Now, at 13:47, I just heard the Wired Thermostat click off.

This is not the first time something like this has happened.

The question is; why is this happening, its wasting oil.

    Update:

I just manually set three downstairs room temperatures (TRVs) to 19 degrees. The current room temperatures range from 15.9 to 17.1.

The app is sitting there reporting "Set to" temperatures rather than "Heating to" temperatures and the boiler hasn't fired.

Is there a lag in the servers today, or do I need to restart something? It's getting cold in here!

  • I've now set the Hall TRV to maximum (25c) and it's completely ignoring me. Its remains at "Set to" rather than "Heating to" and the temperature of the room is a reported 17.8.

I'm now going round the house removing the TRVs so I can get some heat.

    Internet is fine.

I'm not impressed by the reliability of tado today.

  • Now the downstairs Thermostat is clicking on and off randomly. Just now turning off, then on, then off again within a few seconds, it's killing my boiler.

If this carries on I'm going to have to revert to my old Drayton wheel thermostats and send this lot back to Amazon.
