I have a simple system. Heating one room with the thermostat nearby. We are sitting warmly with the temperature nearly a degree above the set point and the heating suddenly tuns on. The explanation seems to be approximately "it's AI and it knows best". That's not keeping our heating costs down. At least I can go back to my own code and control TADO via the API, at least I hope so.

I would think the explanation is probably more like “your heating temperature is dropping towards the set point at a rate where the tado system thinks it’s more economical to switch on the heating now to keep the temperature around the set point rather than use more energy by switching the heating on when the temperature has dropped below the set point.”

That’s how Tado works as I understand it. A lot of people on this forum seem like they’d be happier with a simple on off thermostat.
