Wireless Smart Thermostat functioning as Wireless Temperature Sensor?

Hey everyone, my first post here, and soon to be joining the community of Tado.

So as I know it, there are 3 Tado thermostat/sensors:

A) Wired Smart Thermostat: https://www.tado.com/all-en/wired-smart-thermostat-add-on

B) Wireless Smart Thermostat within: https://www.tado.com/gb-en/wireless-smart-thermostat

C) Temperature Sensor: https://www.tado.com/all-en/wireless-temperature-sensor-specifications

Essentially, I am looking to buy a starter kit with the Wireless Smart Thermostat, here: https://www.screwfix.com/p/tado-v3-wireless-heating-hot-water-smart-thermostat-starter-kit-white/141kt#product_additional_details_container

I'm wondering if I could just keep the receiver in the box, and use the wireless thermostat effectively as a temperature sensor for one of the Smart TRVs. My question is, is the "smart wireless smart thermostat within product B the exact same as the temperature sensor in product C? Or are they 2 different things, and am I unable to use the wireless "smart" thermostat as a sensor. Also interestingly, in the link for product B, it says at "What's in the box" section that included is a temperature sensor. However reading various posts online, people seem to differentiate between these 2 products as if the "wireless smart thermostat" is a completely different product and has extra functionality to control the boiler(albeit through the receiver).

Many thanks for anyone considering to help me out with this!

  • I bought the same kit you’re looking at from Screwfix. I went on and bought a voteless temperature sensor for another room which is exactly the same thing as the wireless thermostat just comes without the receiver part that connects to the boiler. Someone may correct me but the wired temperature sensor I think is the same thing again. The wireless ones I have although they come with no cables there are small screws on the back which I imagined were terminals if they were to be used in a wired situation but don’t quote me on this. Also I got my second wireless temperature sensor on Amazon for £55 there on Black Friday week
  • The wireless smart thermostat and the wireless temperature sensor are the exact same thing
