Radiator compatibility
Hi I have installed a Tado wireless starter kit V3+ this afternoon. I replaced a Drayton SM2, very old Honeywell thermostat and the boiler is a Worcester Greenstar Ri (I forget which number only just moved in) the hot water is a separate tank. Hot water works fine but the boiler won’t fire up even though the app thinks it is on. It comes on in test mode for 3 mins but doesn’t actually heat the radiators. On one of the compatibility pages it says that manual radiator valves aren’t compatible. Is that for the entire system or just the Tado smart valves? It wasn’t 100% clear. All radiators have manual valves on. Looking like I’m going to have to reconnect the old stuff back up and get a refund at this rate. Wish I never bothered

The reference to manual radiator valves is probably about fitting Tado trv heads. Your problem either sounds like incorrect wiring, or a stuck three way valve. You can get a generic manual to check wiring if you Google ‘Tado wireless receiver manual’ or it can be downloaded via the Tado pro app.0

Thanks for your replies, I have just woken up to find that the hot water tile has disappeared from the app now and no light on the wireless receiver. (And no hot water!) I think I’ll just go back to my dumb system at least it actually worked even though the control options are limited0
