Do I need a smart thermostat?

I have 8 Tado TRV's which work independently from an Ideal Vogue combi Gen 2 boiler from the app. If I convert the boiler to Tado smart receiver do I need a Smart thermostat or will the TRV's communicated with the receiver without the thermostat? I know the room stat is more accurate but I am happy with the TRV's temperature control.

    As far as I know you should be ok as you have a combi boiler. The only issue is that you may need to configure the wireless receiver using the wireless temp sensor but you may be able to get around that if you use the tado pro app.

    I've just checked Johnny I don't have the pro app only the standard tado app does this mean I need a smart thermostat?

    You could download the tado pro app?

    does it replace the standard app or run along side of it?

    It’s for configuring systems, no overlap with the standard app at all.
