Using Wired Thermostat as Wireless Temperature Sensor

I’ve replaced our boiler controller with a Tado Wireless Receiver.
Fitting instructions for the receiver state I should remove the existing single wall thermostat, decommission the wires to it and replace with a Tado Wireless Temperature Sensor as the Receiver will replace its function.
I have several Tado Wired Thermostats which came from the old house.
Can I install one of these as if it were a wireless temperature sensor?
