Tado authorised resellers

Tado X comes with a new 10 year warranty which you have to register for. The terms state it is only valid if bought from an "authorised reseller", however they do not give a list of authorised sellers. I would assume Amazon and John Lewis are authorised however it is not clear. I've contacted support and they said they do not have a list of authorised sellers, which is very strange given the warranty is only valid if bought from an authorised seller.

I can't imagine these two shops wouldn't be included but the vague terms make it more concerning that the warranty wouldn't be valid in the future so I prefer confirmation.

Has anyone had any luck in finding this out or can admin help where support haven't?

@Emcee Would you be open to issuing a formal clarification on this? UK rights are limited to 1 year, so a ten year warranty has to be really clear if end users are to feel confident in that warranty statement.

    Hello @todouser224

Let me answer your question first.

I am trying to find an exhaustive reseller list, which is proving to be difficult somehow.

Below is a list of companies that install and/or sell tado° in the UK which are 'officially' recognized by tado°. I will return with more tomorrow, hopefully.

    - Bulb Energy
    - CORGI
    - EON UK
    - Homeserve/Homelink
    - OVO Energy
    - Plumbase
    - SSE Energy Service

Amazon is of course also recognized as we manage that shop ourselves.

Here is the official answer shared by support when asked about this:

The standard warranty will still be 2 years

It’s extended to 10 years only if the product is registered

To gain the 10-year warranty, the customer has to register each product on a dedicated form within 6 months

The 10-year warranty stays with the first customer who registers the devices. it’s not transferable.

Invoices can also be under another name (eg. a gift)

The tado° Home and warranty claim on the form must be in the name of the individual who is using the devices.

All customers who purchased tado° X directly from shop.tado.com or from an official retailer are eligible for warranty coverage.

Second-hand platforms like eBay are NOT eligible

An official proof of purchase (invoice or receipt) is required to validate any warranty claim.

@Emcee thank you. Screwfix and the group to which they belong (diy.com) or B&Q, may need to be included as they regularly advertise Tado offers.
