Does the original remote get used after Tado is setup??

I have a room with 2 levels which has a Daikin mini split on the upper level and cools both levels.

I was thinking after I setup I could keep the Tado remote on one level and the original mini split controller on the other.

Would that work, or are you not supposed to use the original mini split controller anymore once the Tado is setup?
