How do we 'Mark as Read'?

Go on holiday and come back to long list of threads to read, many (most!!) of which are on subjects of which I have little knowledge. How do we mark them as read instead of laboriously opening each one please?

    Just continue reading from some point and ignore all the unread topics, they will quickly disappear from the first page.

    @Rob2 I had to use 3 exclamation marks cos I was 2 characters short!
