Urgent query- using smart thermostats with internet down
Hi
I have smart radiator thermostats and a wireless thermostat but my internet is down. It won’t be resolved till Tuesday so I need to urgently work out how to use my heating. I read somewhere manually adjusting the radiator thermostat should work but it doesn’t seem to be for me on any of my radiators. Any ideas what I Can do?

Manually adjusting the radiator valve usually works for me. Is your router and Internet Bridge turned on? Assuming it still needs this turned on to work0

My router is on but there is no internet. Might have to turn on the boiler directly see if that works0

@YNS I wonder if your radiator thermostats are set to passive mode i.e they will only heat if the heating is actually already on and cannot directly call for heat themselves. Sadly, if that's the case you won't be able to set them to active without the internet.
Presumably though you have an extension kit or wireless receiver wired to your boiler. So you should be able to use the button on them to switch your heating on.0 -
Thanks for the response , I don’t think they are in passive mode as I always use them to call for heat.
I’ve used the button on the wireless reciever to turn on the heat and that seems to have done it.
Can’t believe how much issues a few days of no internet has caused me lol0 -
Out of interest how do you set the thermostats to active or passive? Is it in the app?0

@YNS Yes you should be able to do it in the app.
Select Settings, Rooms & Devices, then click the room name. At the bottom you can set the zone controller. If a zone controller is set, then the devices in that room will request that the zone controller switch the heating on when needed. If no zone controller is set, the device is effectively passive and can't request heat.0 -
Don't forget that Tado devices actually aren't smart! It is the service on internet that provides that.
So no internet, no smart thermostat.
