My smart thermostat takes long for the relay to switch when turning the temp up or down?

I suspect it is faulty or are there any other known issues?

  • Sometimes the relay does not switch.
  • I have same problem. Is there a fix? Thanks

@Jiom1 it could be a weak radio connection to the bridge. One way I've found of checking this is doing the following (assuming it's the smart thermostat and not an extension kit that's flicking the relay - you can't do this check for an extension kit sadly):

Settings - Rooms & Devices, then select the thermostat in question, and hit Blink Display, which should cause "Hi" to flash up on the thermostat. This command is normally rapid.

If this is delayed or doesn't happen at all, then there's a delay in getting the command to the device.

This could of course be blamed on the connection to the internet, but you'd likely notice that when doing other things, so I reckon that'd point to a weak connection to the bridge. Next step would be following the usual steps to get the bridge a bit closer. As it's a weak connection as opposed to no connection it shouldn't need moving by much.

This is all speculative on my part.
