Smart Thermostat and Smart Rad Thermostat
I’ve just installed my new starter kit (Smart Thermostat, extension kit, and four smart radiator thermostats).
However, I’ve encountered an issue which other people may have and I’m wondering how I solve it.
The smart thermostat is placed in the living room. However, I don’t have a SRT on the radiator in the living room because of the smart thermostat. But, now, when I fire up a radiator (with a SRT) in another room the living room rad also fires up. I only realised after a while this is because it doesn’t know it’s not supposed to because there’s nothing physically/digitally connecting it to the smart thermostat.
Should I add a SRT to the living room radiator as well as having the smart thermostat or is this not recommended? Otherwise, while the other room is trying to get to temperature the living room keeps getting hotter and hotter.
I’m wondering though if this will involve me having to get a new valve fitted as well because the existing adjuster isn’t a TRV it’s just a +/- knob that is generally found on living room rads.
Is anyone able to advise please?

After a bit of Googling I’ve realised I would need to change the actual valve on my radiator to accommodate a smart TRV.
So my only remaining questions are, has anyone used a smart TRV and Smart wall thermostat in their living room?
Does it present any issues?
