Upgrade to extension kit

I just upgraded to V3+ with extention kit, so to control hot tap water as well. My old thermostat V2 is connected to the new ethernet bridge, but is also wired. The new V3 thermostat is connected wireless. Should I disconnect the wiring of the old thermostat, or does the system regulate this itself?
