Battery life of Smart TRVs
As long as I've had this system, (almost 18 months) Tado have been giving the same stock email and response on twitter about how the battery life of the trvs is worse than advertised and they are rolling out firmware updates to address this.
It's time we actually had a meaningful response from them on this issue and got an update on when we can expect the battery life we were promised when we purchased the product.

Hi PoxBottle,
Thank you for your message.
It is true that in some devices the batteries last significantly shorter than in others. This can have various causes. While there are high hopes for a firmware update that is nearly ready to be rolled out, there are a few things that everyone who is experiencing short battery life can try.
- Our HelpCenter provides these articles for you to check if you have taken everything into account regarding the batteries:
- What steps can I take to prolong the lifetime of the batteries?
- How can I replace the batteries?
- One major factor is a stable connection to the Internet Bridge. To make sure you have ideal conditions: devices should be placed no closer than 3 metres to and not too far away from the Internet Bridge. You should also make sure that the connection is not impaired by large metal objects (e.g. fridges) or other devices that use radio frequency (e.g. radios, babyphones), so these should be placed at least 3 metres away from the devices and the Internet Bridge.
Should all this not help resolve the issue, please contact us so we can look into it.
Best wishes,
Julia
