Underfloor heating and floor temperature

Hi

When installing a Tado Thermostat to control underfloor heating, does the thermostat have an infrared (or similar type of technology) that measures the floor temperature and not just the room temperature?

The problem with underfloor heating is of course that the room temperature can be fine but the actual floor can be cold to walk on.

  • Hello ThorbenHald,

    Thank you for your question,

The tado° Smart Thermostat does not have an infrared (or similar type of technology) that measures the floor temperature.

We recommend installing a zonevalve to separate the underfloor heating from the circuit. When combined with an Extension Kit, the tado° Smart thermostat can be wired to the valve (and the EK to the boiler). This way the tado° will gain control over the underfloor heating directly,

    Kind regards,

    Joey
