Using a Tado in rental property
Would a Tado V3 or X do the following?
I have an HMO property that I pay the bills for. I'm looking for a way to stop tenants leaving the heating on all day when no one is at home. If I put a Tado in manual mode and set the countdown timer to 2hrs. Does this mean that the tenants can only turn the heating on by manually turning the temp up on wall stat. Then after 2hrs the heating will turn back to auto schedule? If I set the auto schedule to a very low temp, it will essentially then turn the heating off. Then if the tenants want the heating on again, they have to turn the temp back up on the wall stat.

@tyor33 Hello. I'd set up Tado rooms/zones with the 'child lock'. That should prevent the occupants from a manual override of the default TRV or thermostat settings.
Warning. If your tenants have the Tado login, there will always be a way to over-ride the Tado settings.

You could just get a wireless socket, and turn the boiler off/and on on timers, countdown etc?. If its a combi, it probably doesnt add anymore wear and tear.0

I don't think restricting access to temp settings or disabling the boiler would be legal for the landlord to do.
I think @tyor33's original suggestion of setting the timer on manual changes would make the most sense as it would still allow the tenants to control the temp but limit the amount of time the heating would run
As @wateroakley says, don't give them access to the app as there's no user control in there so they could remove you from your own system

@davidlyall I'm not looking to restrict access to the temp setting. Just want to know if a Tado can do what I want it to.

@tyor33 in that case, your suggestion of the timer for manual changes will meet your needs. I've tested this on my V3+ and it works as expected.
I can't comment on Tado X but would assume it has a similar feature0
