Why is my wireless thermostat showing my house is 19 degrees? When it’s not with the heating off?
I have installed the Wireless Smart Thermostat X - Starter Kit incl. Programmer with Hot Water Control and OpenTherm on my vaillant eco tec pro 28 boiler. Is the wireless thermostat not accurate as to how warm the house is? Because it feels really cold but thermostat says 19 degrees with heating being off??

That's an issue that many people on here have struggled with over the years and still now I get frustrated with.
My house right now is roasting and says 19.4c when it's set to and I want it to be 19. But on other days it either doesn't get up to temp quickly enough and nobody can get warm or gets to my room temp but also is noticeably much colder.
You can go into settings and change your offset so the temps match another thermostat, but even then might need to give it a boost on some days.0 -
@Mzkay The thermostat should be accurate to +/- 0.1 deg C. Obviously, the thermostat should be fitted in a location where it can accurately measure temperature. The Tado system is looking at how quickly your home heats up and cools down, and inside/outside temperatures. It can take some days for a new Tado system to settle down with comfortable room temperatures; IIRC it was a week or two for us.
There are a few quirks. Eg multiple X devices in a room take an average temperature. We found that TRVs on big rads or behind furniture will be inaccurate and the offset feature has its limitations. @policywonk may have some thoughts from the opentherm perspective.
