Worcester Bosch 30Si Ebus
I have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30Si Compact ErP combi boiler thats currently controlled by an on/off Hive thermostat. I would like to switch away from the Hive to a thermostat that will modulate the boiler using the ebus terminals on the boiler.
After plenty of reading I'm led to believe the Tado Wired Smart Thermostat V3+ Starter Kit is the one that I require.
I would be interested to know if anyone has used the wired v3+ on WB 30Si boiler & if the boiler modulates ok using the ebus capability.

Hi. If you are comfortable reading, would you consider these reads? I understand because WB doesnt really like giving its customers information to link to Tado, dont know why- and Tado's guide isnt detailed enough. However these links should help.
- The installation instructions from WB: Greenstar 25-30 Si Compact ErP Installation and Servicing Instructions | Worcester Bosch. Look at pages 29-30.
- A thread from an individual who got it to work, with your model. Considering Tado with Worcester Bosch 30si Compact combi - advice needed! — tado° Community
I see you have a combi. Do you by chance have zone valves controlling heat to one or more rooms, or to different floors, or for underfloor heating, or access to a hot water tank? How many thermostats do you have in the property?
- Document all that.
- Contact Tado sales and ask them to detailed installation instructions.
- When you do, ask them whether you need to obtain the EU wireless receiver, or whether a Smart thermostat will be enough.
- With the above links it should get you operational.
Come back if stuck in any way. There are a couple of wiz's who have done well with Tado and the WB EMS-BUS (which Tado calls the HT BUS) - and could also help.

Thankyou for your reply.
Today I went for it & installed the Wired Smart Thermostat Starter Kit V3+ to my Worcester Bosch 30Si & so far, so good.
I had done plenty of reading of the threads on this group & other forums but was still unsure as there appeared to be mixed opinions on whether the thermostat worked correctly with the ebus technology on the Worcester boiler.
I contacted Tado with my boiler details & below is the reply that I received:
"If you want to modulate your boiler you can only have Tado V3+ but this is a complex installation that requires rewiring your heating system. Therefore, unfortunately we can’t provide specific instructions to install tado° to your heating system."
Not sure where the rewiring of the heating system came into it as it only required two wires from the thermostat to the boiler ebus terminals & then configuring the thermostat & it was good to go.

@Asus64UK Thats unfortunate. I suggest you get them to write to you and explain what exactly is so complex that they cannot help with. Make the support officer accountable. We could forward your findings via this forum.
