Vaillant and Hot Water
Got a Vaillant EcoTEC Plus VU30 CS/1-5 with a external hot water tank. My Tado v3 extension kit is connected to the ebus and is recognized by the boiler. In the boiler panel I cannot control the heating circuit (only can control in tado app) and it works ok. I configured the boiler in the app and in the thermostat to use HW and the "Hot Water" icon is in the app. But I can only control the HW temperature in the boiler panel. The changes in the app dont affect the boiler. What am I doing wrong? Tried to redo all the install process but it gets the same result.

- Did you wire it in directly to the boiler or into a Vaillant Wiring Centre?
- Is the Tado instructed to operate in HT-BUS mode, ie Mode D07? It should come with the instructions for installation.
- Is there a wired bridge installed at the point named '24V=RT'? Are all the other instructions adopted? Study the specific instructions on page 36 of this manual: Vaillant EcoTEC Plus Installation & Maintenance Guide.

Hi.
- It's wired directly to the boiler.
- Yes, D07. Configured in Tado app, in the Thermostat and also in the Tado Pro app. All say HW control is enabled.
- Yes. 24V bridged and all was installed according to the manual.

Hopefully @arthur2shedsjackson will be along soon- although he seems to be a busy guy.
It seems that the Tado side is only given authority to operate the Central heating side and the boiler hasnt handed over control for HW. This may be a design limitation of the Tado app when supporting EMS mode- however if it isnt delivering central heating heat as and when needed, you have every right to contact support, present them with all this information, tell them you dont have heat and press for a rapid answer.
Will research this myself. Am hoping that someone who has direct experience with your boiler family - there are a few here - will get involved.
