Why no error code display on app?

My boiler stops working due to fan issue and displays error code , but no message display on app at all until I find the error code on boiler

  • Tado systems do not receive diagnostic data from boilers AFAIK.

  • I would guess it should flag that it's not heating at the historical rate though?

Isn't the care&protect supposed to monitor heating performance etc, if it normally heats at 1c per hour but doesn't it should warn

I've lost count of the times my old boiler failed to start for various reasons and I never had a single alert from the Tado app. Surprised to see that one above, didn't know anything like that existed.

@thebiglebowski - where did you get that pic? From Tado? Interesting. I have an oil firedboiler which shuts down every time winds are high. Tado's never given me that message.

If this is really issued by the App- I've never seen it - its a brilliant idea because the back end does know how to calculate the likely heating curve and therefore if progress falls below 35%, theres a case for a warning message from the App.

  • yep it was in the Tado help section.

@thebiglebowski I've had Tado for years and have never seen that message, it might be in the manual but never been implemented and I don't think it ever will. The team needs to remove this information from Auto-Assist.

Well that's interesting. Whilst I was away (had an emergency to handle) I deliberately left my system set to ignore my location so that the cats would be warm. The boiler failed, nothing to do with Tado, but it didn't inform me that heat output wasn't within the predicted curve. Thanks mate. Time for my complaint!
