Issues - Tado with Ideal Combi Boiler

I have installed a Tado receiver + thermostat replacing a Wolseley Central.

The receiver has the On, WiFi, and heat request lights on, however on the ideal Logic Combi C30, it displays a message “Room star or timer off” and does start heating

Does anyone know how to resolve?

    Hello @Seltoner

Our support agent Victoria sent you a message on December 4.

Unfortunately, the wiring for the device BP1090396672 is not correct, so please, check the installation instructions one more time.

If you still have any issues, just reply to Victoria's conversation message via email.

    HI @Seltoner

Sorry its been a few days to get to this. It appears that the Ideal Logic Combi C30 - here's the installation guide, look at pages 32-34- is an Opentherm boiler, whilst the Wolsely Central - here's their installation guide 340017_Installation.pdf- is a wired programmer and thermostat wireless pair, intended for basic on-off commands which call for Central Heating heat - and it has no role in driving Opentherm parameters.

Does one presume right in that when deciding to adopt Tado kit, you then contacted the sales people and that they gave you the instructions needed below?

    • Dismount the Wolseley Central.
    • Reassign the wiring to the boiler to take it out of dumb switched mode, to Opentherm mode
    • Install the Tado kit in Opentherm mode.

The fact that the boiler claims that the thermostat function is disabled suggests that something went wrong in the migration.

    • Did Tado give you the instructions for the migration, are you at the point where you want us to think over this with you?
    • Have you used the App to get Tado support directly engaged? They would have a trace, starting with your original enquiry and be in a position to grasp what is and isnt happening.

@Emcee - would you escalate this to Support and have them clarify the comms status between the Tado thermostats and the boiler?
