Why isn’t my heating working?
I have been having problems with my heating for that last 2 days.
Initially, it started with overheating on the weekend, waking me up at 03:00am on the 19th with a room heating to 25 degrees that shouldn’t have been on. I turned this off and went to work yesterday (19th) but when I arrived home last night the heating wasn’t working at all despite the thermostats showing that I am trying to get them to a temperature whilst the radiators are cold.
I have changed the batteries in all of the TRV, turned the wireless received on and off, the same with the internet bridge. There are no errors showing, my system looks like it should be working on the app, but the radiators are not heating. Note that when they should be heating I can hear the TRV turning but no hot water is going through to the radiator and I can’t hear the boiler click on.
I note there was an issue on the 19th which Tado applied a fix to, not sure if this is to do with that? Also to note, a plumber came round last Wednesday (a week ago) to apply TRV to my radiators as they weren’t thermostatic. Again, not sure if this is linked.
Any help greatly appreciated as I currently have no heating and it is freezing!
Thanks

Hi, I have had this issue for the last couple of years and must be something with the app. Sometimes all works as should. Other times everything looks good, boiler no faults, internet connection, but rads are cold. When I turn a tap on it all clicks in and the heat starts to come through. Annoying when waking up or coming home to a cold house. IV had no fix so resorted to see if anyone has the same issue? Tempted to go back to give I had previously0

My Tado is for my for the heating, not the water as I have a combi boiler.0

Yes .one is a combi so when my heating is due to come on, it doesn't always come on. Ut for some strange reason turning a tap on briefly makes the heating come alive0

Well… my heating has come on. To the schedule. However, my radiators are now not responding to changes I make manually in the app. They are now working to an old schedule . I’m not sure what this means. It seems like there is a disconnect between the changes I make in the app and the instant change that should happen to the radiator; and also if I make a change to the schedule, it doesn’t impact the radiator . For example I have changed the schedule for one of the rooms to be at 19 instead of 17 (because manually changing the temp doesn’t work) , however the radiator in the room
Is keeping the temp at the old setting of 17 degrees.
I’ve had this system in my old house for over a year and never had one problem with it. Moved six weeks ago, got the wireless receiver in 4 weeks ago. Working fine. Got the TRV fitted last week (note had to change the radiators from on / off to TRV as well as fit the Tado ones) and now this. Timing suggests could be linked , however I don’t know if it is. At least my flat has warmed up for an hour . Just don’t know how to now keep the heating on!0 -
It all appears to me to perhaps be a connection / app issue, I don't have the trvs sorry I can't help with your problem0

Ok. Maybe I should delete the app and restart 🤷♀️0

Worth a try. Think that's all I can do0
-
Update- the heating is off and I am again unable to get the rooms warm, even though I have adjusted the schedule , and manually adjusted the temperature0

IV tried to go to settings on my phone, apps, tado app, cleared the cache in there gonna see if this helps my issue0

If Sall's solution doesn't pan out, you should contact support via live-chat. I couldn't find any history of chats for your account (based on your email address). You don't have to spend every winter facing these problems, please let our agents investigate.
@Sall
I think the issue you faced when you got back from work on the 20th was likely caused by our server issues.
When it comes to the overheating on the weekend, I can see that at 4:00 there was a heat request. I am not sure why as your schedule does not start until 6:00. It might have something to do with our server issues, but I doubt it. If this occurs again, please don't hesitate to contact support. It may take a while to get an answer as we are seeing a lot of tickets due to the servers / peak issues, but they can best diagnose the problem.0 -
@emcee
Thank you. I think you are right. There’s an issue updating commands from the app to the wireless receiver . So it means I prob will get one hour of heating int he morning until the issue is resolved . However it is really cold …I’m not sure how long I can sit it out for.0 -
I only joined the community this morning, I didn't realise I hadn't signed up and there was a community. I have just put up with the issue as nobody seems to be able to do anything0
