TRV overheating room after furniture moved

My daughter recently changed her room layout, resulting in the bed moving closer to the radiator. I wasn't surprised when the room temp was then recorded as higher, as warm air was getting trapped, and figured the TRV would adjust. However a month later not only is the room still recording hotter temps, the room itself is actually being overheated by several degrees. How do I force the algorithm to relearn the room?

Hello @MGo There are two options when the heat source is near the TRV.

    a) First option is to use a temperature offset in the settings. Our experience found that the offset has it's limitations in practice.

    b) The much better option, and far more effective, is to add a wireless thermostat to the room.

  • I'm not sure I've been understood: the valve is both overheating the room in reality, but its also doing so by its own measurement. As in the room is both too warm, and the TRV itself is recording 23C when its target is 19C. If it just heated until it passed the trigger it is set for the problem would be sorted. My understanding of Tado's TRVs that they were supposed to be smart in the sense that they learnt the heating profile of a room and optimised for that. If that is the case then I need a way of resetting the room profile as something seems to have gone wrong.
