Can I carry around my wireless thermostat?
I've recently purchased a combo of wireless receiver and wifi thermostat, the black one (not sure what the actual name is). I've also purchased a base for the thermostat.
I've noticed that the app speaks of "Room", which seems to imply that the ideal usage is to have a few thermostats in fixed locations around the house.
I guess I can use my only wireless thermostat as a portable device and move between rooms with it. I wonder though if that might pose any issue with how Tado apps and algorithms are intended to work.
In other words: is my use case valid?
Thanks,
F.

Hello @Faberitius
The Wireless Temperature Sensor X works best when it is in one place. It is best not to move it around.
It seems to me the simplest option would be to place your Temperature Sensor in a central part of your Home where the temperature is representative of the whole space. Since you can name the rooms as you please in the tado° App, choose whichever name you want for the place you've put the temperature sensor.
In addition, keep in mind the following 'best practices' for Temperature Sensors:
- Keep it Away from direct heat sources or air drafts: Do not place the Thermostat or Wireless Temperature Sensor near a radiator, fireplace, or in a place that is directly exposed to the sun. This will cause it to heat up and show a higher temperature than it actually is. The same applies to sources of cold airflow, like windows or doors to colder rooms, as well.- Have it Around 1.5 m above the floor: As colder air is heavier, it sinks down making it generally cooler closer to the floor. If you place the Thermostat too low, it would measure a lower temperature and heat the room when not needed.
