Radiators turn on when bridge loses connection
Hi all, I have seen other people post the same issue but i have never found the solution . . .This has happened a few times now that I have woken up in the middle of the night sweating (in winter) because the heating has been on all night for some reason and when I check my Tado app it shows as lost connection, I then have to go to the wifi bridge, unplug the power cable, plug it back in and then the app regains connection and the radiators turn off, I do not understand why if it loses connection the system does not default off, instead it switches the heating on ! this in fact completely undoes any energy saving that the Tado system was installed for - it in fact costs more, I am sure there must be a solution to this as it seems to be a common problem, if someone could point me to the fix that would be great otherwise it will be more cost effective to remove the Tado system as it seems to waste energy rather than save it. Thanks

@Mr_Dee , I've tested by unplugging the network cable on my bridge and the heating is not triggered.
A few weeks ago, I had an internet outage of several days a few weeks back and again, my heating didn't spring into life. I've also not had any weird heating behaviour if the router (which powers the bridge) has had to be powered down for any amount of time.
I'm running a number of TRVs plus an Extension Kit as the zone controller.
Can you describe your system as this issue may only affect a specific type of configuration

Hello @Mr_Dee
Yes, please provide more information.
Also, if you would like to avoid this happening in the future, you might want to sign-up for our Offline Schedule feature here. The feature ensures that even when internet connection is lost, the system continues to follow your Smart Schedule setting.0 -
It has done this twice in recent weeks, my smart schedule switches all of the radiators off at around 11pm, i go to sleep and i wake around 3-4 am sweating because the heating is on, I check my Tado app which shows as OFFLINE i reboot my phone and I get the same Tado OFFLINE, i pull the power lead out of the Tado bridge and plug it back in again, check my phone and the Tado app works fine and i find that 3 radiators have been on, the 3 radiators that weirdly switch on are not radiators that are on late on my smart schedule, I would maybe understand if it was the radiator that was on late which is only the bedroom radiator but it isn't, one of the radiators that comes on (spare room) is not even programmed to come on at all in my smart schedule so really don't understand

Very strange indeed. Do you know what lights were showing on the bridge when this happened?
Is the bridge powered from a USB on your router or by a separate PSU? If powered from the router, some routers appear to power down the USB which might be part of your problem so it would be worth trying a separate power supply. An old USB phone charger is ideal for this
I'm still at a loss as to why this would turn on your heating on specific rads

@Mr_Dee Hello. That's an odd symptom. May I ask your internet provider and router make/model? From a previous life ... the BT/Openreach management system will manege the router, sometime between midnight and 6am. Depending on the ISP and router, these interventions can cause odd issues, especially for cloud systems that lose connection. Have you asked for the V3+ off-line schedule update?

Hi all, yes I have had the same problem again with the heating coming on in the night, again I checked my Tado app with all radiators showing Offline, i went to the bridge and unplugged the power cable and plugged it back in (worked last time) but this time it did not work so i unplugged the bridge ethernet cable and plugged it and then it connected and the app connected, i checked the radiators which showed the bedroom radiator had been on and the spare room radiator had been on (again the spare room radiator is not set to come on at all in the smart schedule)
