  • Some things need clarification.

According to Tado's guide this is a combi, where the controls are EBUS based, operating in D57 mode. This is the installation guide issued by Ariston: CLAS HE Evo & CLAS HE System Evo - Installation & Servicing Manual. Pages 25-27 provide the information needed. You should have also received a detailed guide from Tado, identifying how to:

    • Set the wires on the motherboard of the boiler so that the programer port is bypassed.
    • Connect the Tado wired thermostat to the boiler, probably at the BUS port

Suspect that what I've written here may not chime with you somewhere. Did Tado's guide take you to an Ebus connection and the use of a Wired Smart Thermostat, or something else? Please explain.

  • I have a reciver which connect to wireless thermostat tado that side fine but not trigger boiler old thermostat which where wired have all been capped of so I can use the wireless 1 wiring was installed in receiver from original wires not direct into boiler
  • @Kdkarlos Questions:

    1. Did you wire those connections yourself, or was it done by a professional?
    2. How long ago? Is this problem new, i.e. it was working before but has developed this problem, or has it failed to work since the wiring was done?
    3. Do you have the capacity to take photographs of the following and post them here?
      1. The wireless receiver (with the front taken off so we can see the wires)
      2. The boiler motherboard, with these connectors clearly captured with their wiring in the photo:
        1. BUS
        2. TA2 FLOOR
        3. SE
        4. TNK
        5. SOL
        6. TA1
    4. DId you contact Tado via the App and ask them to help, before coming here? How did they respond?

May be able to help. Need the answers and the photos if you can do that.

  • The wiring was done by a professional I didn't how do you attached photos here lol
  • OK. Did the problem only appear now, or has it always been like this?

Use a laptop or desktop machine. Start a browser. Look at the symbol links below in the comment field, one is for photos, and post the snaps.

  • No problem only started when he did is installation. Was working fine on old wired thermostat but had to update coz screens where knackered and someone recommended tado

Well that doesn't make sense. Next steps suggested:
    1. Contact Tado support through the app and ask them for specific instructions to install tado system in D57 mode.
    2. The use of a wireless receiver does not make sense. Do you have a hot water tank?
    3. Get another certified ariston installer to fix the wiring.
  • Contacted them and they said wouldn't need as your in uk ?

@Rob Would you have a look at this please and study the products the end user has in his implementation and the type of configuration assigned to the wireless receiver? Is it still in relay mode, or is it in the right digital configuration?

    • Suspect that @Kdkarlos's home, has a UK wireless receiver- couldnt tell because I cant see the full id - which will only work with this boiler in relay mode, not digital mode. Or can the existing receiver do the job?
    • From the pictures, it seems that the electrician may have most of it right, but cannot tell from the photos as to whether it has been configured right.
    • From Kdkarlos' reflections some more specific help from Tado Support - eg a more clear, well documented pathway to making Kdkarlos's boiler work- would be welcomed.

Am happy to help Kdkarlos identify what he has and therefore help gather the facts needed, for the configuration, perhaps even a product, change. Hope you see what I'm seeing.

@Kdkarlos. You've taken a photo of the wireless receiver. Would you please take a photo of all the other Tado products you've implemented, with wiring if possible, and also answer the following:

    1. Is there a hot water tank involved, or is this boiler being used only as a combie?
    2. Are there zone valves involved, or is there only one CH loop going through your home? If there are zone valves, how many, and what do they handle?
    3. Is there underfloor heating? If so please take a photo of the manifold and the wiring centre.
    4. Is there another wiring centre involved, handling the boiler, the pump and other components, or are the wires running directly to the boiler?
    5. Do you have TRVs on your radiators?
    6. How long has it been since this Tado environment was installed? How long since the boiler was installed?
    7. Do you have somewhere the plugs for the T B BUS, TNK and SOL connectors?

  • @policywonk UK, Wireless Receiver → Relay.

Anything related to the bus of the boiler is irrelevant here, as it's not compatible with this wireless receiver. Kdkarlos would need an EU-market Wireless receiver. Which means replacing the perfectly fine UK Wireless Receiver, which makes little sense to most users.

    So, let's stick to relay.

The wiring seems fine. @Kdkarlos can you press the test button specific to heating on the tado Wireless Receiver? Does the light near that button come on, on the tado device? Does the boiler respond with noise / creating hot water / warmer pipes within a minute or so?

  • Got it sorted regarding wiring at back of reciver lied the problem only problem I have now is its not firing heating up..this could be valve stuck now I will no more after today once plumber visits if he says boiler fine then back to drawing board
  • If it lights up at the Tado end, but the boiler doesnt fire, it may be a zone valve. Your plumber should know how to complete the switches on the zone valves.
