Wireless Smart Thermostat Starter Kit V3+ with Hot Water Wiring question

Hi there,

I've just installed the Wireless Smart Thermostat Starter Kit V3+ with Hot Water and had a question about decommissioning the old wired Thermostat.

The install went fine, I could call the hot water however I was getting nothing from the Radiator call. I remembered at that point that I'd forgotten to decommission the old wired Thermostat so off I went to do that.

The old wired Thermostat had 3 wires (I forgot to take a picture while still on the wall, but have labelled it below: (Black, Red and Earth in Green)

Here is the label diagram from the inside:

Does anyone have an idea on what I need to do? I'd be making an assumption that I'd need to join 2 wires together using the wago's?

Thanks in advance.

@Rekrab Welcome. Looking at your room stat picture, you should join the red (1) and black (3) wires with one of the Wago connectors. Good practice is to put brown sleeving over the black wire to denote a 'live' wire. That should be the 'call for heat' from the decommissioned room stat. Safely terminate the green (earth) so that there are no bare wires.

If your'e leaving the old room stat in place, the alternative is put both red and black onto (1).
