Fitting advice gratefully received
opted for the v3+ non opentherm for my ideal pro combi exclusive 35. Have had a little look inside the boiler and am met with a cover over the front panel reverse. Have removed to get access to the control board and can see the bracket holding wireless receiver in. Would I remove this receiver and fit the tado? This would leave a hole in the front of the boiler.

Look for pins 3 and 4 on the timer head. The timer instructions say that pins 3 and 4 on the timer side (not the boiler side) are COM and NO. So, keeping it short, when the timer provides authority, it bridges those two pins.
Try this- be careful- bridge those two pins at the timer and that should let the power flow to the Tado stat. If it does and the boiler works normally, then go back and remove power to that timer on pins 1 and 2 at the timer's end, in effect removing all connections to the timer. On losing all power it will stop transmitting, leaving only the Tado in control.
Don't forget to isolate stuff.... don't leave live wires hanging around waiting to destroy something. Get a sparkie if you aren't sure.1

Dead easy
Look at this link. ProCombi.pdf, page 27 and page 28. In the picture above there is a chocolate strip with seven connecting points.
- 2 on the top right of your photo of the open circuit board belonging to the Frost Stat. Leave that alone.
- 3 in the middle of the chocolate strip, which handle the power supply to the boiler.
- 2 at the bottom of the strip, is more accurately described on page 28.
- This has a bridging wire which should be removed.
- The one to the absolute bottom of the photo is SWITCHED LIVE, and goes to NO on the Tado thermostat.
- The one above it goes to COM on the Tado thermostat.
Didnt Tado send you instuctions when you informed them about the configuration?
Dont forget to turn off the power when you are making this change.

no they didn’t send but will get back in touch and ask. So if I remove bridging wire and attach the two wires as above. What becomes of the receiver connected? Does that remain powered and in place?

That's my concern, can you trace its wiring? According to the manual, that round thing at the front is the manual timer.
Suspect it needs to be de-wired, but you need to get the boiler manufacturers tech team to instruct you on how to remove its role in the starting logic of the boiler - or study the implementation guide pages 26-28 and page 43.

I can remove the unit so should be able to trace wires back and isolate. Am awaiting response from tech. Thanks for all the help across the 2 threads.👍🏻
