Boiler starts with delay
Hey there!
This summer I got a new boiler and recently started to notice an issue: even though a room is marked as 'heating' in the app, the boiler is not heating the water. To fix this, I decrease and increase the set temperature several times, and after several times, it works.
The same goes when the schedule changes: in the morning, the set temperature ascends, but the boiler won't start heating. Sometimes it only starts 30 minutes after the set temperature has changed.
This issue happens to all 5 radiator thermostats I have at home
The funny thing is that the issue is intermittent: the next time with the same radiator it may immediately work, but the time after it might again work with a delay.
To check this issue, I increase the target temperature in a room and look at the boiler to check when it starts to work: sometimes the radiator thermostat opens and the boiler starts to work within 30 seconds; sometimes only the radiator opens but the boiler won't start heating; sometimes both remain off. In all cases, the target room in the app changes to 'heating'.
I didn't remember such an issue when I had a previous boiler, but on the other hand, the boiler from the same brand and model name, I only got its new revision.
I contacted support, but the support agent in a robot-like manner told me everything was working well.
What I checked:
- batteries in thermostats are changed
- the pressure is according to the instructions 1.4–1.5 bar
- a zone controller is set for the rooms in question
- when it happens, hot tap water is not open
For your information, I have the Remeha Avanta ACE 28C CW4 boiler

Have you contacted Tado support via the App? They remotely study the relationship between the thermostats and boiler firing times and offer objective advice. If they hold you up, come back here.
