Tado calls for heat, boiler not firing, pump not running – Viessmann 222-W + Vitotronic 200
Hello everyone,
I've recently installed the Tado V3+ system (wireless temperature receiver and wired boiler module) on my Viessmann 222-W B2LA with the Vitotronic 200 HO1B variant. I'm not entirely sure if the setup is working correctly, so I wanted to run this by you, as experts in the field.
1. The boiler seems to fire only after a significant temperature drop. My thermostat is set to 21.5°C, but the room where the wireless unit is placed cools down to around 20.7-20.8°C before the boiler starts firing.
2. While this is happening, the Tado app (and the fading LED on the boiler unit) shows that it's calling for heat, but there’s no immediate reaction from the boiler—no circulation pump cycling or firing—until the temperature drops further.
I’ve contacted Tado, and they’ve assured me that everything appears normal, but I’m still not confident about the current state of things, especially considering the difference between the Tado's "call for heat" and the boiler's actual response. I’ve also double-checked the wiring and coding on the boiler as per the instructions in the app.
I’d really appreciate your thoughts and feedback on this.
Best regards,

Hi. I have got the same problem. Thermostat is set to 22deg, room temp is 21 deg and only 1 heatwave and boiler barely heating. It start for 5 min and then stops for 20min or so. Also once it stays like that for 1h or so, it goes to 2 heatwaves and even when it reaches 22.5 it still heats at 2 waves. I really do not understand what the hell is doing. Sometimes it is freezing sometimes is too hot even when the soon is heating the room. It is very uncomfortable. Some people said that I need to wait so the system can learn. But learn what? I am not teaching it anything. It does whatever it wants.0

How long before you have the boiler formally serviced and checked by an approved Viessmann engineer. The may be a problem in it registering the flow and return temps and adjusting accordingly. Site engineers can get the thing to simulate your problem, overve the data stream and check for internal error.0
