Hello, V3+ wired. How much can I extend the wire?

I have 15 metres between the combi boiler and where I want to install the wired thermostat. Will it work ? The wireless one can't go as far as that, there are 2 concrete floors from the combi to where the thermostat is. Thank you in advance!

Is the wired stat is operating in RELAY mode with mains voltage, or is it working as a digital switch? If the former, it should work.

The latter can face problems if the digital switch being delivered is communicating at under 24 volts, at that distance. In that scenario, consider fitting:

    • a wired smart stat near the boiler
    • configure it to act as a zone controller
    • for a Wireless Smart Sensor, fitted at the point you need.
    • the wired stat will then be told when to switch on things by the wireless sensor.

Here's a guide: How does tado° control Heating Zones? How can I change the Zone Controller of a room? | Help Center for tado° V3+ and earlier devices

  • An idea. Run the wires and fit the wired stat. If it does not work, fit the stat closer to the boiler and then add a smart wall sensor and have it refer to the wired stat as its zone controller.

Have just done some research on Opentherm, the most common digital control system. Their standard allows up to 50 metres between the boiler and thermostat or controller. If your boiler is either relay controlled or opentherm controlled your thermostat can survive a 15m distance.
Now whether the Internet bridge can handle the concrete floors adequately is a question. Here, with 45cm walls and solid floors, 22 metres apart, Tado seems to cope. That may not be the case at your place.
