I had a smart thermostat & internet bridge installed
I can see the internet bridge on my home app but can’t scan the QR code on the thermostat. My thermostat is linked to Alexa. When I switch off the heat (by Alexa, on the Tado app or manually on the thermostat) although it shows as being off, it does not switch the heating off! I can only switch the heating off at the boiler. Please help 🙏🏽

@Nosh sorry, this does not make sense to me. Is your thermostat registered to your Tado account?

Yes it is registered to my tado account. When I switch the heating off on the app, it says it’s off but in reality the heating stays on0

I think that Alexa is now controlling you heating, not Tado.
I had mine connected briefly to Alexa and it overrode the schedule in Tado, try telling Alexa to turn off the heat and if this works set up a schedule in Alexa1 -
Apologies, ignore the above, I misread the question

Thank you for your answer. Heating will turn on when I ask Alexa to turn on but it won’t turn off the heating. This applies if I switch off from the thermostat itself or on the app! It only switches off from the boiler itself0

interesting, I only tried Alexa briefly because my wife is not a fan but when connected with Alexa I don’t think the controls on the thermostat worked.
Have you tried removing Tado from Alexa and turning on and off from the app?

I will try that but even if I switch off the smart thermostat or switch off on the Tado app, it says it’s off, but the heating remains on! I can only switch off from the boiler itself0

Is there a motorised valve involved when CH is turned on or off? It may be faulty.0

No, it goes off from the boiler if switched on & off manually. Just doesn’t turn on & off from the thermostat itself, the app or Alexa
Thank you0
