Vallaint boiler turning off comfort (pre-heat)

We have a Vaillant eco tec 831 plus. Read on internet that if you turn the hot water dial to minimum then back again it deactivates the 'C' pre heat. However turning it does nothing. Our tado is connected to the Vaillant by ebus. Therefore i am thinking Tado has control of 'C' mode and i can't deactivate it manually. how do i get it turned off please?

@Rob Could someone check on whether the back end is driving this, and if not, come back to the community with a position on whats next?

  • @policywonk @badbike This is the first time I've heard of this. Surely the manual of the boiler would describe such a feature.

As I cannot find a tado account based on badbike's forum-email address, I also cannot look at the account. For the Vaillant eBus you should have a hot water zone with temperature control in your tado app. Assuming you have a combi boiler, I suspect that setting the domestic hot water zone to 'off' in tado will switch off comfort pre-heat, and will heat domestic hot water on demand only. So, water is heated only when you manually open a hot water tap in your home.

I know it works like this for Opentherm and I suspect it's similar for eBus, but I am not 100% confident. Worth a try though.
