New boiler = new tado?

I currently have a condensing boiler with integrated hot water storage (Potterton Powermax HE) with a Tado V3+ Black Edition Wireless Heating & Hot Water Smart Thermostat Starter Kit.

I'm getting the boiler replaced with a combi (Worcester Bosch Greenstar 4000).

Can the existing tado unit be wired to the new combi boiler, or will I have to replace it with a new heating only one?

Hello @benn88 The Greenstar 4000 installation manual looks like the boiler supports both CH and HW connections (3). Therefore, your existing Tado starter kit should be suitable to use with the new boiler. However, always best to check with with Tado support for a definitive answer.

Can confirm the old Tado works fine with the new boiler.

Had to ask Tado support to remove the hot water controls from my account so it doesn't show in the app, which seems bats**t crazy but hey.

  • @benn88 I have the same boiler as you. Did you wire it using the switched live diagram on the extension kit? The app for some reason was telling me to do via relay which seems incorrect.
