Adding Wired Smart Thermostat - need to factory reset... something... Help!
Hi All
I'm adding a wired smart thermostat and a wireless temperature sensor to my existing system which has been in for a few years. It is to control a new under floor heating zone.
I've added and removed the device a few times trying to figure out how to get the wireless temp sensor, which is in the room with UFH to call the wired smart thermostat, which is in the utility near the UFH manifold.
Initially during testing, I could get the wired smart thermostat to call for the boiler wirelessly fine but couldn't get the wireless temp sensor to link.
I got to the point last night were I could get the wireless temp sensor to click the relay in the wired smart thermostat. This is great as it can turn on the zone valve and run the pump for the UFH.
However, the thermostat doesn't call for the boiler wirelessly anymore.
When I re-add a device, the app has "remembered" things about how I set it up before.
So a simple question, which seems like asking how to split the atom: How do I factory reset the new devices so I can re-set them up?
A secondary question might be How do I tell the app to forget everything it knows about the two devices so I can re-set them up?
Thanks in advance.

So, to summarize, you want the wireless thermostat to control AND the wired thermostat that is dedicated for the UFH AND the wireless receiver connected to the boiler.
You don't need any factory resets or let the app forget everything. You 'simply' need the proper settings in the app. But what are the correct settings?
In your case you need to assign the wired and the wireless thermostat to the same room in the app. And obviously make the wireless thermostat the leader doing the temp measurement. Also make sure that the Zone Controller for this UFH room is correct; in your case the wireless receiver.
If you don't mind, I will set it up for you. What I did:
- I merged the devices in the Orangery and UFH rooms into one room in the app (Orangery)
- I've set with the wireless thermostat as the temp 'leader' and the wireless thermostat set up to click its relay (both were the standard settings, so no actions taken)
- As in all other rooms, I've set the wireless receiver as the zone controller for this room (it was the wired thermostat before, which is why it was not controlling the wireless receiver any more)
I believe this will solve the issues you had. Please check if this is correct.
Both devices in one room:
The settings for the room, with the measuring device and the zone controller setup correctly. Do check that Offset setting though, that seems weird.

Hi Rob
That's mega helpful however, before I read your post, I got home after leaving the batteries out all night, put the batteries in and removed the devices and re-added them. Now I have two new rooms :(
Would you mind awfully setting it up again?
I did notice the single room, both devices but hadn't read your message.
Thank you and sorry!

Thank you again.
For the life of me I can't see how you "merge" rooms, how do you do that?
The screenshot above (and now in the app) shows the zone controller for the Orangery as the Wireless Main Receiver not the Wired Smart Thermostat so it won't open the zone valve or power the UFH pump?
If I try and change the zone controller for the orangery, the new Wired Smart Thermostat is no longer available as an option.
I won't mess about with it, I'll give it a go tonight.

- The wired thermostat is an integral part of the room Orangery. So whatever zone controller you select for that room is moot (for the thermostat), when room Orangery has a heat request it will switch its relay. Now that the wireless receiver is zone controller for that room, a heat request from Orangery will AND let the wired thermostat switch its relay AND let the wireless receiver control the boiler. All other rooms will only control the wireless receiver.
- I merely added a second device to an existing room which used to have 1 device. This removes the now empty old room in which the moved device was placed before.
(sorry about the layout of this comment)

Well, it seems to be working so thank you very much!

My wording was a bit unprecise. You don't actively merge rooms. You add a second device to an existing room, and with that automatically remove the old room that second device was in. Let me give an example:
Old situation:
Room 1 with wired thermostat A
Room 2 with radiator thermostat B.Now, you go to settings → rooms and devices → radiator thermostat B → Room.
There, at Room, you select Room 1.New situation:
Room 1 with wired thermostat A and radiator thermostat B.
Room 2 is automatically removed as there are not devices left in that room.
In the screenshot the device is part of Living Room, but can be moved to a different room when you click Room.
So when you have a radiator thermostat it is easy to do. It seems though that you are not able to move wired thermostats nor wireless thermostats (w. temp sensors) to other rooms in the app. I overlooked that. That might have prevented you from doing this yourself. As support we can do it in the backend though, assigning both wired and wireless thermostats to the same room.
