Truly terrible hardware, how do I resolve....?
Hi all,
Like most folk, I'm struggling with the Tado bridge, the appalling software design (eg no backup schedules, pointless cloud dependency) and the hardware design from the cretaceous period (I mean I've never seen any firm recommend to get their bridge working you need to buy a 10Mbps half duplex switch as well as 'move the bridge around a bit'…..!)
Anyway, my bridge randomly disconnected yesterday at 14:45 and rendered the house without heating or hot water as a result of all these shambolic design decisions!
I've tried:
- restarting the bridge (many times)
- different ethernet cable
- Different network port
- fixed IP address
- attaching an ancient 10mbps switch with half duplex
- factory resetting the bridge (holding factory reset button for ten seconds)
- Chanting a medieval pagan curse upon the shambles that is Tado as a company and their terrible hack job of a design solution.
None of these worked (although the latter made me feel slightly better).
It's just sitting there with one light on for power and nothing else. When I reboot it, it occasionally starts to flash the network second LED, so trying to get a DHCP assigned I assume, but then goes back to just power LED after a while. Checked in my UDM Pro and all other 135 devices working perfectly, just Tado a fail….
Any other suggestions on how I can get this hack job of a product to just connect to the internet?
