Why is Tado turning on the boiler when I have selected 'turn off all rooms'?

I 'turned off all rooms' earlier this evening, but the boiler has still turned on this evening - even though all room temperatures according to the app were above what is set in the schedule. (19.6-23°, I set the sceneries for each TRV to 18).

I have 4 x TRVs in living areas, wireless reciver in the kitchen and wired thermostat and the hall/ next to the boiler.

@Stefoo In order to help, can you provide more information on yur heating system? S-Plan or Y-plan? Is Tado calling for heat? Which lights are on the receiver? Or perhaps the zone valves are stuck/faulty?

Is this just a one-off say once per day, or is it doing it continuously?

I get these phantom boiler fires and have done for many years. It usually happens very late at night. The app reports nothing is firing, yet the boiler does sometimes (and I can see from it's menu it thinks it's getting a heating request).

In the past people have said it could be interference causing certain devices to not get the message (although you would think that the app shouldn't show firing or not firing until it has acknowledgement back from all devices, this does not appear to be how it works).

  • Was it providing heat for the hot water system in the house? I've currently got the radiator heating off but the hot water is still on for showers etc.

  • I too am getting this. tado says heating is off and my rads are all still blasting heat and the house temp is rising to uncomfortable levels despite it being nice weather outside. pulling my hair out here
