Powering the smart thermostat
Hi,
My proposed installation is a smart thermostat and the wireless extension kit.
The thermostat will not be hard wired to the boiler.
Is it possible in this configuration the thermostat can still be powered from a permanent power source as opposed to the 3 x AAA batteries?
An opportunity has arisen where I may be able to get some power cables to the unit if this configuration is supported.
Thanks in advance.

No, the Tado Smart Thermostats are not powered by anything other than the batteries whether wired in or not. The wiring to the thermostat is only switching the boiler on and off, not powering the thermostat. Many heating installations have no neutral wire so thermostat can’t be powered.
Hope this helps
