How do I get one radiator just to come on with a TRV?
Hi all,
I recently purchased a TRV for our bedroom in the hope I could turn on a single radiator before bed. We have a log burner downstairs and rarely use the central heating.
However despite fitting it easily, whenever I go to turn the upstairs radiator on, the whole house system turns on as well.
Is there a way for me to turn on a single radiator using the only TRV in the house or is this simply not possible? From the research I've done so far, my understanding is that for this to work I would have to turn all othe radiator manually off, or purchase TRVs for the full house.
Any help or comments appreciated.

Your assumption is correct, if you want just one radiator on you need either to manually turn the others off or fit them all with smart TRVs. I suppose these need not be tados so long as you don’t need them to be able to call for heat . . .0
