Can a tado smart thermostat work with just the wireless temperature sensor and no internet?

I've just had a TADO V3+ smart thermostat installed and there is no internet at the property yet. The wireless temperature sensor is not able to turn the heating on or off. When I try to pair it, it instantly shows the paired symbol. Is it possible to use without internet or does it need the bridge and a connection to the internet?


Also, I hold the 2 test buttons downs and select the combi boiler option (orange) but then the light blinks orange constantly and doesn't stop. Is this normal?

    You can use the system without Internet once it has been set up. The bridge is a necessity though. I suspect for the installation process it needs to have an Internet connection.
