Install Sanity Check - Alpha InTec2 (ST9400C -> Tado Wireless Starter Kit)
I have a faulty ST9400C that needs to be replaced and am looking to upgrade to Tado
Current setup is as follows:
- Alpha InTec2 boiler
- ST9400C
- Alpha Wireless Receiver
The ST9400C config is as follows:
The wiring is as follows:
- 1 - Earth (move to position 9 on wireless receiver [earth])
- 2 - Neutral (move to position 1 on wireless receiver [neutral])
- 3 - Live (move to position 2 on wireless receiver [live])
- 4 - CH OFF
- 5 - HW OFF
- 6 - CH ON (move to position ? on wireless receiver [?])
- 7 - HW ON (move to position ? on wireless receiver [?])

Two wires from ST9400C in storage cupboard are routed to kitchen cupboard, both cables terminate at the fusebox, where 1 cable then goes to boiler
Any advice would be greatfully appreciated. I'm hoping this does not require moving cables between rooms etc as that would be major PINA, but let me know if this is required (as well as whether I can do a 1-to-1 swap on the programmer to tado. Really want to avoid tampering with boiler config)

Rewiring the ST9400C to a Tado wireless controller is straightforward. As follows:
- First. Power OFF.
- Second. Label all the wires.
- Third. Pencil, spirit level, drill and wall plugs. The Tado wireless receiver screw holes won't quite line up with the Honeywell backplate holes :(
- 1 - Earth. (No earth sleeving. Shuddder). Green/Yellow sleeving to cover the bare wires.
- 1 - Earth. Move to position 9 on wireless receiver [Earth]).
- 2 - Neutral (move to position 1 on wireless receiver [Neutral])
- 3 - Live (move to position 2 on wireless receiver [Live])
- 4 - CH OFF (Not used)
- 5 - HW OFF (Not used)
- 6 - CH ON (move to position 5 on wireless receiver (CH NO))
- 7 - HW ON (move to position 8 on wireless receiver (HW NO))
- Add links from 2 (Live) to 3 (CH COM) and to 6 (HW COM). These are supplied with the wireless receiver.
- Existing thermostat? You'll need to make sure that any thermostat/receiver is bridged to 'call for heat'.
- Alpha receiver and boiler? I dont know anything about them.

I have the links, but there's no way they reach from 2 to 3 and 2 to 6? So I'm guessing I'll have to buy some of the circular crimp connectors and treble them up? I don't think I'd manage to fit the three onto Live?

Just loop on from 3 to 6 . . .

The short links in the kit should reach from 2 to 3, and 3 to 6 ?
